BEACH PARK (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Lake County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a fatal crash that happened in north suburban Beach Park Sunday afternoon.
Police said the crash left a 60-year-old man dead. He was in a Ford Mustang racing a Mazda 3 sedan southbound on Sheridan Road around 3:45 p.m.
The man then struck a Honda SUV that was trying to make a left turn onto York House Road.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver of the Honda, a 59-year-old woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Mazda’s driver, a 26-year-old man, did not strike anything, but is being considered a part of the crash, since he was involved in the drag racing.
