61-year-old man robbed, beaten while walking in the Loop: Police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police are looking for the suspects of an armed robbery in the Loop that injured a man early Tuesday morning.

A 61-year-old man suffered injuries to the back of his head and his elbow after police said he was attacked by a group of people.

It happened just after 2:45 a.m. The man was walking near Washington and LaSalle when four people jumped out of a dark vehicle, one of them had a gun.

Police said the suspects demanded the victim's money and phone and then hit the victim several times he was treated by paramedics at the scene.

Area Three detectives are investigating.
