CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago Police continue to investigate a morning shooting on the North Side that left a 74-year-old man critically wounded.

According to 47th Ward Alderman Matt Martin, the incident occurred at about 9 a.m., at the intersection of Lincoln and Berteau.

The victim was getting out of his vehicle when two suspects began shooting in his direction, police said. The 74-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to his left arm, and a bullet grazed his neck. He was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, initially listed in critical condition.

The CPD soon established a SWAT perimeter near the shooting scene in North Center in an attempt to search for the suspects.

In an afternoon Facebook post, Martin updated residents, saying police arrested one of the suspects.
