Man accused of trying to kidnap women on Northwestern's campus

EVANSTON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A Chicago man is due in bond court today on attempted kidnapping charges over the weekend in Evanston.

28-year-old James Saye of West Ridge is accused of trying to push a woman into his car Saturday morning at about 9:45 a.m. on the campus of Northwestern.

Police said the woman, who is not affiliated with the university, escaped and gave a description of him and the vehicle to a nearby patrol officer.

Officers found a matching Ford Escape and followed it on a low-speed chase, ending with his arrest.

He faces charges of attempted kidnapping and aggravated fleeing and eluding. Police said the woman was not hurt.
