An effort to detain a man at the DuPage County courthouse Friday morning sends three deputies to the hospital.
The DuPage County Sheriff's Office says a man was ordered for an evaluation after finishing a court hearing just after 10 a.m.
He was stopped by deputies at the top of an escalator and, after reportedly striking one of the deputies, both fell down.
The sheriff's office says multiple deputies were injured apprehending the man, with three being taken to hospitals.
Their conditions are not known.
The state’s attorney’s office is determining whether to file criminal charges.
