Man leads police on high-speed chase after allegedly burglarizing tobacco store

VILLA PARK, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Bond has been set for a Cook County man charged with leading police on a high-speed chase after allegedly breaking into a tobacco store in west suburban Villa Park Tuesday morning.

Villa Park police said that around 4:30 a.m., officers responded at Roosevelt Tobacco to a call of a burglary. When they arrived, they saw that the front window of the tobacco shop had been shattered.

Officers said they then spotted and pursued Michael Soria, 34 in a high-speed chase before arresting him near his home just before 10:45 a.m.

Soria faces three felony counts, including burglary, possession of burglary tools and aggravated fleeing and eluding.

His bail was set at $25,000.
