NAPERVILLE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A convicted felon's arrest outside Naperville’s Topgolf on Sunday marked the latest in over twenty gun-related arrests there since last August.

Police said it was just before 1 a.m. when they spotted 36-year-old Dolton resident Courtney Bennett driving a white Alfa Romeo into the Topgolf parking lot with a gun visible in the center console.

He left his car, later returning to the car, turned the car on, and that's when officers said they moved in, blocking his car from leaving.

Bennett then allegedly tried to toss his keys to someone else but was unsuccessful.

He was arrested after allegedly resisting and found in possession of a loaded .40 caliber handgun, cannabis, and open spiked Minute Maid cans.

Police said Bennet's record includes three other weapon convictions and he was denied pretrial release.
