CHICAGO (WBBM Newsradio) — A man and a young boy were hospitalized after being struck in a hit-and-run crash late Sunday in Chicago's West Rogers Park neighborhood.

The collision happened around 9:40 p.m. near Peterson and Washtenaw avenues, according to Chicago police. Officers said a 24-year-old man and a 4-year-old boy were in the crosswalk when they were hit by a gray vehicle traveling westbound.


The driver got out of the car and fled the scene on foot after the crash, police said.

The man was taken to St. Francis Hospital in fair condition, and the child was transported to Swedish Hospital, also in fair condition.

No arrests have been made. Area Three detectives are investigating.
