OAK PARK, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A man dressed as Santa found himself under attack over the weekend in Oak Park.
Adam White greets people in a Santa suit outside his brother's store, Needful Things, located at the corner of Clinton Avenue and Roosevelt Road at the south end of Oak Park.
He told CBS 2 that seeing him makes children happy. “The kids come running up to me,” he said. “They hug me.”
White also said that everyone is usually happy to see him except the two men dressed in dark clothes and ski masks caught on camera attacking him.
“They just started throwing eggs at me, and it felt like some hard rocks or something – I don’t know,” he told CBS 2. “You know, they hit me in the face, threw some from back, from the front. I was trying to push them off.”
White called the police. The two men could not be tracked down, but cracked eggs could be seen all over the sidewalk.
White said the attackers must not like Christmas and "they’re going to be on the naughty list".
