CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - There was a murder on a CTA train late Monday night downtown.
Chicago police said it happened shortly before 11 p.m. on the CTA Blue Line. Police and Fire Department paramedics were called to the Clinton Street station at Ida B. Wells Drive and that's where they found a man stabbed in the chest.
Police said the man was stabbed on a westbound train. He was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Medical Examiner's Office identifies him as Nicholas Osthimer.
Police say no one is in custody at this point. The LaSalle Street station was bypassed by el trains for more than three hours until around 2:30 in the morning.
