(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A fire in the Belmont-Cragin neighborhood on Chicago's Northwest Side killed a man and left another person injured.
Chicago fire officials say the blaze broke out just before 8 p.m. Saturday at 5163 West Grand Avenue.
Crews were not able to complete a search of the property due to the instability of the building. It has been declared a total loss.
Firefighters were expected to be in the neighborhood Sunday morning to review fire safety tips with residents.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said an autopsy was planned for Venancio Delfino, 81.
