CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man is hospitalized with life-threatening wounds after a shooting in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side early this morning.

Chicago Police said two men were at a gas station on Garfield near Wabash when a man got out of a white Lexus and held them up. It was around 1:40 a.m.

Police said the robber took the men’s money and shot at them, hitting a 28-year-old in the chest.

The victim was dropped off at the hospital, initially in critical condition.

Department statistics show robberies are down in the Second District compared to this time last year.
