(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A feud between two brothers ended in an attempted murder and a suicide at a northwest suburban restaurant on Tuesday afternoon, authorities in Lake County said.
Fox Lake police officers were called to Dockers on West Grand Avenue around 1 p.m. for a report of shots fired. Outside the restaurant, police found a deceased 63-year-old man; nearby was a 56-year-old man with critical injuries, according to the Lake County Major Crime Task Force.
Police said the two men were brothers who once co-owned the restaurant together. The elder brother traveled to the restaurant to confront the 56-year-old “about an ongoing feud,” officials said.
The elder brother fired a gun at his sibling, who fled outside and collapsed after being shot multiple times, police said. It’s believed the 63-year-old brother then fatally shot himself, officials said.
The 56-year-old man was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center. An investigation continues.
