
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Detectives are investigating an overnight shooting incident on the Southwest Side that left one man dead, and another critically wounded.
Responding to a report of shots fired shortly after 2:20 a.m., Chicago police discovered a 22-year-old man shot to death on the ground at 62nd and Troy. A gun was recovered on the scene, next to him, police said.
Police later learned of a second victim believed to be shot at the scene. A 19-year-old man was dropped off at Holy Cross Hospital with wounds to the torso and arm. He was later transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
A witness at the scene told officers they saw a red truck quickly drive away after the shooting.
No one is in custody.
