Man shot and killed outside Rogers Park CTA Station, hours after Thursday's crash

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A verbal argument escalated into a fatal shooting close to the scene of Thursday morning’s CTA Yellow Line crash.

Chicago police said a 30-year-old began arguing with another person outside the Howard CTA Station, at around 1:50 p.m. Thursday. The confrontation became physical at the corner of Howard and Paulina, and the suspect took out a gun and shot the victim in the torso.

The 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one is in custody. Area detectives are investigating.

Less than four hours earlier, a Yellow Line train crashed into a slow-moving snowplow on the tracks near the Howard station, critically injuring three people.
