Man shot and killed while inside South Side Subway restaurant: CPD

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man inside a sandwich shop on Chicago’s South Side is dead after a shooting Thursday night.

Chicago Police said officers found a person shot in the head inside a Subway restaurant when they responded to a call in a strip mall near 79th and Perry. It was about 11:40 p.m.

They said the victim, a man believed to be between 18 and 25-years-old, was shot by a man or teen who was inside the shop and ran off.

No one is in custody.

Statistics for the 6th District, where this happened, show through last week there have been 21 shootings and eight murders so far this year. Both are down from this time last year.
