Man shot near NW Side CTA Blue Line station, police say

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man is recovering after being shot Thursday night near a Blue Line station on Chicago’s Northwest Side.

Chicago police said a 34-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk near the Logan Square station along the Blue Line, at Milwaukee and Kedzie avenues when someone got out of a car and shot him.

It was about 10:20 p.m., and the man was hit in the lower back.

Paramedics took him to the hospital in good condition. No one is in custody.

This comes just days after four passengers were fatally shot as they slept on a Blue Line train in Forest Park.

Two unions of transit employees want to bring back the dedicated police force for the CTA.
