Pedestrian dead, motorcycle driver injured in Portage Park crash

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A pedestrian is dead and a motorcycle driver is injured after a crash in Portage Park last night.

Chicago police said a man was crossing the street near Irving Park and Central at about 10:50 p.m. when he was hit by a motorcycle going west. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

He was identified by the medical examiner as Timothy Kast, 46 of Jefferson Park.

The 35- year-old driver of the motorcycle was also taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition. A speed camera at Portage Park may help the major accidents unit with its investigation.
