CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago Police are questioning a man after a stabbing at a McDonald’s Sunday left three people hurt on the Southwest Side, in the Wrightwood neighborhood.
It happened at breakfast time. Police said a man demanded free food from a cashier at the McDonald’s near 79th and Western. When he didn’t get it, they said he stabbed an 18-year-old man and two 45-year-old women with something that looked like a hatchet.
Moe Cannon is a regular customer at that location and tells CBS News Chicago the suspect asked him for money before the stabbing.
“Old girl had a hole in her head, and then one lady was cut right here, and one boy, he was cut on his face, I think,” Cannon said.
Hours after the 8:30 a.m. incident, the suspect returned and was arrested across the street.
Police said they’re questioning someone.
The 18-year-old was in good condition, as was one of the women. The other was initially listed in serious condition.
