CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police are investigating a string of reported robberies that occurred in less than an hour overnight.
Police said the first robbery happened around 2:20 a.m. in Lakeview, near Diversey and Pine Grove Avenue. A 35-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were walking on the sidewalk, when four men got out of a black sedan, struck the man with a handgun, forced him to the ground, and stole the victims' items at gunpoint.
Then, police said, at around 2:40 a.m., something similar happened to two women walking in Old Town off of Weed St. This time, one man stole the victims' items, while three other men waited inside the car.
About 35 minutes later, near 11th and State, four men hit and robbed a 55-year-old man.
Police have not confirmed if the robberies are connected. No arrests have been made.
