(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The body of a 41-year-old man was pulled from a southwest suburban retention pond Sunday evening after a fisherman alerted authorities.

The man was fishing at a pond at Pheasant Hollow Subdivision, 12448 W. 143rd Street, in Homer Glen, when he noticed what appeared to be a body under the water about 10 feet from shore, the Will County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

Fire personnel removed the body from the water, and a coroner’s office representative declared the male dead.

Authorities were not releasing the man’s identity but say his driver’s license was found on his body. The man had been reported missing Friday from Orland Park.

An autopsy was performed Monday. Cause of death is pending completion of reports and toxicology, officials said.
