(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Police across the country are looking for a Chicago man who's been accused of shooting three members of a south suburban family earlier this month.
Matteson police announced a nationwide manhunt is underway for 43-year-old Lander D. Coleman.
He's accused of sneaking into his ex-girlfriend's home and shooting her, her 12-year-old son and 23-year-old daughter. Steven Booth is the boy's father and told CBS 2 what happened.
"Junior was in his room playing video games," Booth said. "He heard gunshots and his mother screaming; his mother called out for him; he ran into the room, jumped on Mr. Coleman's back and tried to pull him off of his mother. Mr. Coleman turned around, shot Junior twice, one through the arm and one through the leg."
The boy, his mom and sister are recovering from their wounds.
The station reported the woman had an order of protection against Coleman back in March.
Matteson police want to hear from anyone who may know where Coleman is or has information about the case.
