(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Mayor Brandon Johnson is suggested there may be a staff shakeup brewing at City Hall.

The surprising words came during an evening appearance at New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church.

It was billed as part of the mayor's Faith and Government initiative.

The mayor expressed regret that he didn't clean house sooner, keeping too many holdovers from past administrations.

He said he's about to correct that mistake.

“I'm in a position now where I'll be making some decisions in the days to come, because playing nice with other people who ain’t about us. It's just a waste of exercise."

Suggesting some serious policy disagreements, he said at one point, “if you ain't with us, you gotta go.”

So far there have been no explanations or clarifications from the mayor's office.

In the past, such actions usually came early in an administration, not in more than a year and a half down the road.
