CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicagoans will get another chance tonight to weigh in on what they want to see in a new permanent Chicago Police Superintendent.
The Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability is the agency whose job it is to come up with three recommended candidates from which the next mayor, Brandon Johnson, will possibly pick as the new police superintendent.
He could reject all three, and the commission would come back with three more names. Tonight, at Roosevelt High School on Wilson Avenue, there’ll be a forum on the police superintendent.
The last day for candidates for the job to submit their application is Sunday. One person who has not submitted an application at this point is Fred Waller. He’s the former third-ranked CPD officer who Mayor-elect Johnson has picked as interim superintendent.
