CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Metra is extending its $100 monthly pass.
Metra said the $100 “Super Saver” pass, good for unlimited rides, is being extended through the end of the year.
“Put simply, this is a great deal – especially when higher prices at the pump and the grocery store are impacting everyone’s bottom line,” said Metra Executive Director/CEO Jim Derwinski in a statement
The pass was initially offered in July during a pilot program.
Derwinski said they’re looking at all options to reinvent service following the COVID-related slow-down.
He said regional sales taxes, which support operations, have remained strong, allowing the agency to use some federal COVID-19 relief funding in more creative ways that directly benefit riders.
