WHITEFISH BAY, Wis. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The manager of the Milwaukee Brewers and Whitefish Bay native, Craig Counsell was a hometown hero--bringing the team the most wins in its history and five playoff appearances in the last nine seasons.

But now that he's heading to Chicago's North Side to manage the division rival Cubs, some Brewers fans are lashing out.

After news broke of his deal with the Cubs, someone vandalized the sign at Craig Counsell Park in Whitefish Bay--using spray paint to write an explicit term referring to Counsell.

The park is home to the village's little league teams. Police are investigating the vandalism.
