(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Starting next spring, you'll be able to get in a quick nine holes at the Morton Arboretum.
The Lisle institution says it will open a pop-up mini-golf course from May 24 through Sept. 2. The course will have tree-themed, interactive features.
According to head of exhibitions Amy Scott, there will be whimsical features at each hole to illustrate different scientific concepts.
Two examples: how sound is used by researchers to detect tree decay, and what tree rings can tell scientists about the life of a tree and its environment.
There'll be an added cost to play the mini-golf course.
