(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A 55-year-old woman reported missing from Riverside was found in Tennessee after spending more than a week in the woods.

Lisa Ann Vais was found Monday after police learned her cellphone pinged in the Cherokee National Forest, Riverside police said in a statement.

Officers found her walking out of a heavily wooded area in Turtletown, police said. She was taken to a hospital for observation.

Vais told investigators she had been in the woods for 10 days, police said. Her car has not been recovered.

Vais was reported missing March 13 by her husband. Police said she was believed to be under “extreme emotional stress.”
