CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The city of Evanston is looking for a new city manager and job seekers have until Monday to apply for the position.
One alderman would like to extend the schedule for narrowing down potential candidates so the public has more time to meet them and provide input.
Evanston Now has reported Ald. Devon Reid of the 8th Ward told residents that he wanted a delay during an online ward meeting.
Under the schedule that's in place right now, the city's consulting firm will conduct screening interviews and then present its recommendations to the city council next week.
The council will then conduct interviews with finalists and approve the new city manager by the first week of January.
