(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry wants to slow the spread of surging COVID-19, so it will require all visitors over the age of 5 to provide proof of vaccination.
If you want to see the coal mine, the model railroad, the U-505 submarine, or the simulated tornado at MSI you'll have to show that vaccination beginning today.
Everyone over the age of 16 will have to present a photo ID with their proof of vaccination, as well.
Guests must obtain timed entry tickets in advance. Masks are required for all visitors.
The museum’s new requirement comes ahead of Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s proof-of-vaccination mandate for many indoor venues, including bars, restaurants and movie theaters. That requirement takes effect Jan. 3.
