(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The anniversary of a famous Abraham Lincoln speech is coming up, and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum has something special planned for visitors.
From November 17- 28, the museum will be displaying an original edition of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, 160 years after Lincoln first delivered the speech at the Soldiers National Cemetery, now called the Gettysburg National Cemetery, in Pennsylvania.
It's just one of five places in the that has a handwritten copy of the address. The others are at the White house, Cornell University, and the Library of Congress.
“In 272 powerful words, Abraham Lincoln captured the pain of the Civil War and the truth of what was at stake: a new birth of freedom,” said Christina Shutt, executive director of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
“This handwritten copy of his address is a national treasure. We hope offering free admission allows more people to appreciate it in person."
Admission to the museum will also be free on the anniversary date- November 19.
