CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police are investigating damage to a Muslim-owned martial arts studio in the Lincoln Square neighborhood.
Redzovic Jiu-Jitsu, at 4900 North Lincoln Avenue, had window damage on Sunday night.
Exactly what caused it, according to police, is unclear.
The studio is owned by Eddie Redzovic, who hosts videos on YouTube, some talking about his Muslim faith and many about martial arts.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations believes someone fired a gun at the studio and wants to see the damage investigated as a hate crime.
It happened at about 9 p.m.
A council representative said surveillance video shows a car circling the area and then stopping in front of the studio and there are flashes seen coming from the car window.
Police aren’t sure it was gunshots.
Redzovic said “it’s heartbreaking,” and people need to “embrace love over hate.”
