(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Naperville is offering residents a free and safe way to get rid of their medical needles.
Starting Jan. 2, residents will be able to grab a free container to safely dispose of their needles in their own community.
After getting a container from the Naperville Fire Department Administration, residents insert their needles and drop off the sealed containers at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility.
The Naperville Residential Sharps Disposal Program is funded by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.
It lasts until June 30, 2024.
