
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a semi Tuesday night on Chicago’s Near West Side.
Chicago Police said a woman crossed the street in front of the truck that was going northbound on Ashland and Roosevelt.
It happened at around 8:15 p.m., and witnesses said it appeared the woman was pinned underneath the semi.
Paramedics took her to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police mentioned no charges at this point. The investigation is being conducted by the Major Accidents Unit.
An autopsy is planned for today.
