New round of DuSable Lake Shore Drive closures announced

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The resurfacing of DuSable Lake Shore Drive (DLSD) on the North Side continues, and some northbound lanes will be impacted this week.

The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) has provided an update to their roadwork plan along DLSD, announcing both partial and full closures until overnight Thursday, Oct. 3.

The closures are part of CDOT’s over month-long resurfacing project.

CDOT urges drivers to plan ahead and allow for extra time in their trips. CDOT also asks drivers to look out for flaggers and construction signage when entering and approaching work zones.

Here is the roadwork schedule for the upcoming week:

Wednesday, Oct. 2:
- At 7 p.m., southbound DLSD will be reduced to one lane between Hollywood Avenue and Lawrence Avenue.
- At 9 p.m., ALL LANES of southbound DLSD  will be closed between Hollywood Avenue and Lawrence Avenue. Traffic will be diverted at Lawrence Avenue.
- By 6 a.m. Thursday, all lanes will reopen.

Thursday, Oct. 3:
- At 7 p.m., DLSD will be reduced to one lane between Irving Park Road and Fullerton Avenue.
- At 9 p.m., ALL LANES of southbound DLSD will be closed between Irving Park Road and Fullerton Avenue. Traffic will be diverted to Inner Lake Shore Drive.
- By 6 a.m. Friday, all lanes will reopen.

CDOT says all work is scheduled to be done by late October.
