MCHENRY COUNTY (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - People in the area of Richmond and Spring Grove are being warned they may smell gas today.
Nicor is transferring mercaptan, which gives natural gas its odor and said people in the area may be able to smell it.
The work is being done at a natural gas station.
The utility said it's possible there will be an excess smell of the odorant.
Nicor said it will naturally dissipate and poses no harm.
