(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- There's the very beginning of an idea floating around a North Side neighborhood that could get the attention of pedestrians, drivers and businesses.

The Andersonville Chamber of Commerce has been surveying community members about several possibilities, including closing a stretch of Clark Street for pedestrians only.

“It’s basically collecting data so that we have an understanding of where our businesses are with even just removing a parking space,” says David Oakes, director of business services and district manager.

He admits he’s intrigued by the idea of a pedestrian-only street.

“I would love to see something like this happen in the city of Chicago,” Oakes said.
