FOX RIVER GROVE, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Unseasonably warm temperatures this month forced the Norge Ski Club in Fox River Grove to move it’s annual Winter Tournament to the second weekend in February.  Now, fingers are crossed.

Charlie Sedevic with the club said the latest round of snow is not going to have much, if any impact, at least not on the jumps.

They prefer man-made snow and Sedevic said it has to be between 20 and 25 degrees for the guns that shoot the snow to work properly.

One way or another, he says, they’ll pull it off. The club has never cancelled a tournament in the club’s 118-year history.

"So we're gonna do anything possible. We have different ways of getting some snow elsewhere."

Sedevic said they have brought snow in railcars. More recently they have used what's left over after a Zamboni cleans an ice rink. The club also had a company deliver ice that was crushed at the site.

Sedevic also said they may have to do something like that again.
