(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — As Allstate prepares to sell its 232-acre campus along the Tri-State, the village of Glenview is crying foul over Prospect Heights’ plans to annex the property.
Glenview Village President Mike Jenny said he’s disappointed Prospect Heights is trying to annex the land, the vast majority of which is in unincorporated Cook County.
Jenny said this violates a long-standing agreement between the two suburbs. He said the 1997 agreement allows Glenview to add and develop the property along Sanders, and under it the village has been making annual payments and extending water service to its neighbor.
Glenview intends to take any actions necessary to enforce the agreement.
In November, Allstate announced the $232 million sale of its headquarters near Northbrook to Dermody Properties. Dermody plans to redevelop the site as a logistics hub.
