(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Nurses at Ascension Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet say they have given notice of their intent to strike the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
The nurses complain of missing money from paychecks and intimidation by management.
They say understaffing in recent months has led to a record number of patient falls -- and multiple visits by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
There has been no response yet from management yet on the announced strike for Nov. 21 and 22.
Nearly 500 nurses went on strike for two days over the summer at Saint Joseph Hospital and were locked out for four days. Ascension said at the time it had to hire replacement nurses for a minimum of four days.
