
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Officials at the National Weather Service say storm damage reported in the northern suburbs this week probably was not caused by a tornado.
They say straight-line winds likely caused tree damage Monday in Northfield, even though spotters reported seeing funnel clouds in the area.
The weather service estimates winds hit about 70 miles per hour. They said their assessment about the incident could change, with new information.
