Officials are investigating deadly West Side fire

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out in Humboldt Park Sunday morning that left one person dead.

Chicago police responded shortly after 1 a.m. to a call of an apartment fire at Harding and Wabansia avenues.

Chicago fire officials were already on the scene and found a 65-year-old woman on the first floor. She was unresponsive with burns on her body.

She was treated by firefighters but was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say no other injuries were reported and no other apartments were affected.
