Orland Park adds names of veterans to memorial: 'You represent the best of America'

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Village of Orland Park hosted its annual Veterans Day ceremony Wednesday morning and added 13 new names to the community's memorial honoring those who served.

This names of the newest round of honorees were unveiled on the granite walls that border Ara Pace, or Place of Peace, located in the village center. The memorial features the engraved names of veterans, living and deceased, who served in all branches and in all wars.

• Terrence Michael Harty
• Philip R. Kosiba
• Terry Lew Krause
• Terrence Lee Martin
• Tony Martinez
• Robert N. Nicola
• Kevin T. O'Brien
• Maurice J. O'Connor
• William Joseph Rafferty
• Terry Vance Watland

"I want to thank all of the veterans here today for their service. You represent the best of America. Today I join the rest of us that are here in giving you the recognition you deserve then and now," Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau, an Air Force veteran, said during socially distanced ceremonies.
