(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The longtime owner of a legendary Bridgeport bar has died.

Jimbo's tavern was a hotspot for Sox fans for decades. The owner of the bar, Joseph “Jimbo” Levato, has now died. He was 89 years old.

The Sun-Times reports Jimbo had been a dockhand at a South Side trucking company for nearly 30 years, and his second chapter of life was owning the bar.

The bar shut down in 2008 because of a fight between Jimbo and the landlord.

Around 100 people could fit inside the bar, and they packed them in in spite of the fact that Jimbo was an unapologetic Cubs fan.
