Pastor Luke MacDonald of Good News in the Neighborhood Church in Palatine says this is a hard season for working families--and 25 dollars of free gas might make someone's week a little easier.
The church is hosting its second annual gas giveaway this Saturday from noon to 2pm at the Mobil station at 1228 East Dundee Road. You don't have to go to the church since leadership says anyone can pull in.
Last year, more than 150 cars showed up. The funds will come from the church's tithes and offerings.
The church, Good News in the Neighborhood Church is located at 312 East Wood Street in Palatine. It focuses on outreach in the community.
Volunteers will pump the gas and an ice cream truck will be on site.
