Pedestrian struck and killed on Bishop Ford Expressway: ISP

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car early Thursday on the Bishop Ford Freeway, causing southbound lanes to close at Sibley Boulevard, officials said.

About 3:40 a.m., the person was found on the freeway by state troopers and pronounced dead, Illinois state police said. Their name hasn’t been released yet.

Southbound lanes remained closed at Sibley Boulevard as of 7:40 a.m., state police said. Lanes are expected to reopen by 8:30 a.m.

An investigation was ongoing and no further details were available.
