ORLAND PARK (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police in Orland Park are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred overnight.
Police responded to what they’re calling “reports of perceived shots” on the 170th block of Redbud Lane just after midnight.
They said a shooting victim was discovered in a vehicle and that life-saving attempts were unsuccessful.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as a 28-year-old woman from Chicago.
The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is part of the investigation, which police said is active and ongoing.
