CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Hey everyone, meet Nutmeg!
Nutmeg is a 2-year-old, female Domestic shorthair cat. She weighs 10.5 pounds.
She is considered an "Comeback Kitty" at Paws Chicago, which means her adoption fees will be waived through Sunday, Sept. 19.

PAWS Chicago said Nutmeg, like the spice, can help improve your mood and heart health, because she is so affectionate and cute, especially when she falls asleep with her tongue out. It’s also amusing to watch her pounce and play with her toy mouse or string. She loves when you get down on all fours and play right along with her, just watch out for those claws!
Nutmeg may be a bit cautious at first, but with enough attention, she will be your bestie before you know it! She can be very vocal and opinionated about when it’s time to eat, play, or be petted. Nutmeg would love a home where there are plenty of warm spots to curl up in the sun, on a radiator, or next to a warm-blooded human, and won’t be left alone. She may benefit from having another cat companion to keep her company.

Are you Nutmeg’s forever family? You might be if you love cats, live in a child-free home, and work from home.
If you’re interested in adopting this pet, there are few steps you must complete before scheduling an appointment at the PAWS Chicago Lincoln Park Adoption Center:
1. Please start by taking PAWS Chicago's ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to their needs!
2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.
3. Finally, complete PAWS Chicago's Foster Pet Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, the Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and, if they have next steps, reach out within a few days.

Please note that while PAWS Chicago can’t place holds on adoptable animals for your scheduled appointment, there are always plenty of homeless pets looking for a home! If you don’t meet the perfect pet, please feel free to complete a new Foster Pet Adoption Inquiry Form.
