CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Hey everyone, meet Sarah!
Sarah is a 10-year-old Shepherd mix. She weighs 77.4 pounds.

PAWS Chicago said Sarah is a sweet old-timer looking for a calm, relaxing home in which to spend her golden years. This 10-year-old, 77 pound, Shepherd mix loves going for walks, as long as you don't mind moving at a leisurely pace and having your hand nudged for pets along the way.
Take the ComPETibility quiz here.
After a nice walk, you’ll find Sarah settling in for a nap on the couch. Her perfect match would be with an experienced dog lover, living in a pet- and child-free home. She would prefer having someone at home with her for most of the day, so if you're working remotely, why not do it with Sarah by your side?
On the fence about adopting? Consider fostering Sarah for a few weeks! Fostering with the intent to adopt is a great way to see how Sarah fits in before making things official. While fostering, you’ll have full support from PAWS for medical, behavioral, and food needs. To get started, apply to foster and reach out to acfoster@pawschicago.org.

Leah can’t wait to meet you!
If you’re interested in adopting this pet, there are few steps you must complete before scheduling an appointment:
1. Please start by taking PAWS Chicago's ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to their needs!
2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.
3. Finally, complete PAWS Chicago's Foster Pet Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, the Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and, if they have next steps, reach out within a few days.
Please note that while PAWS can’t place holds on adoptable animals for your scheduled appointment, there are always plenty of homeless pets looking for a home. If you don’t meet the perfect pet during your first visit to the Adoption Center, please feel free to schedule another appointment.
Please note that due to current COVID restrictions, to meet or adopt an available animal, you will need to schedule an adoption appointment for animals located at our Lincoln Park Adoption Center or complete a Foster Pet Adoption Inquiry Form for animals in a foster home.
