(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — More than 1,000 photographic images of, and related to, Abraham Lincoln are ready for viewing in a new exhibit from Springfield’s Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM) — and you don’t even have to travel to Springfield to see it.

The online exhibit “Picturing Lincoln” is free to visit, and the images are free to download.

ALPLM Director Christina Shutt said the exhibit speaks to her organization’s “commitment to making history more accessible to people.”

“Picturing Lincoln” is the latest online exhibit from ALPLM. It joins other exhibits that shed light on the Gettysburg Address and the Emancipation Proclamation.

The project is funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities through the Illinois secretary of state’s office.

All of the images are available for viewing online.
